Bay Area Host Committee Launches Local Business Marketplace to Strengthen Regional Economy
New Interactive Marketplace Connects Local Vendors with Event Procurement Opportunities, Supported by BAHC Foundation Donors such as Visa and PG&E Corporation Foundation
Mountain View, CA (May 8, 2026) — The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) today announced the launch of the BAHC Local Business Marketplace, an interactive online marketplace designed to connect local Bay Area vendors with event organizers procuring goods and services for world-class sporting events.
Developed in partnership with MYS Firm, the platform represents a transformative step toward ensuring that the economic benefits of hosting major events flow directly to regional businesses and communities.
“We're committed to leveraging the platform of world-class sporting events to create tangible, lasting opportunity for Bay Area businesses,” said Zaileen Janmohamed, President & CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee. “The BAHC Local Business Marketplace represents more than a procurement database — it's a statement about who we are as a region. By keeping economic opportunity local, we're building a stronger, more equitable Bay Area that benefits from the energy and resources these global events bring to our doorstep.”
The BAHC Local Business Marketplace addresses a long-standing challenge: while major sporting events generate significant economic activity, local and diverse-owned businesses have historically lacked a centralized, credible platform to access these procurement opportunities. Similarly, event organizers have struggled to identify and vet local vendors efficiently. This tool eliminates those barriers by creating a searchable directory of vetted businesses across all nine Bay Area counties.
For local businesses, the platform allows vendors to create and manage profiles that include business details, diversity certifications, service categories, and references. Approved profiles become searchable by event organizers and procurement teams through customizable filters including specialty category, diversity designation, and county location.
For event organizers and buyers, the tool provides a powerful search interface to identify local suppliers meeting specific event needs — all free and easy to use.
Registration is now open and free for all local businesses across the nine Bay Area counties. To access, visit www.bayareahostcommittee.com/local-business-marketplace. Event organizers interested in gaining access to the tool to source vendors can reach out to impact@bayareahostcommittee.com.
