Bay Area Host Committee Forms Landmark Agreement with Genentech as Official Biotech Partner
Mountain View, CA (October 30, 2025) — The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) announced today a first-of-its-kind partnership with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, as a Founding Partner, Legacy Partner, and the Official Biotech Partner of the BAHC. Genentech will support BAHC's efforts with the region hosting Super Bowl LX and the FIFA World Cup. This collaboration celebrates Genentech as the pioneer of the biotechnology industry in South San Francisco, CA, as it prepares to commemorate its 50th anniversary in 2026 and its enduring commitment to innovation and community impact in the Bay Area.
“Genentech and the Bay Area Host Committee share a spirit of bold innovation,” said BAHC President & CEO Zaileen Janmohamed. “It’s a spirit we all use to drive lasting impact for our communities, and one Genentech will lean into to help shape our legacy—connecting local residents and fans to the global stage, right here in the Bay.”
"As we prepare to celebrate 50 years of life-changing scientific breakthroughs for society’s most complex health challenges, this partnership with the Bay Area Host Committee is a natural extension of our commitment to supporting healthy lives and communities," said Genentech CEO Ashley Magargee. “We look forward to joining forces with the BAHC to inspire the next generation of innovators and showcase the Bay Area’s unique legacy of trailblazing biotechnology leadership to the world."
