Bay Area Host Committee Welcomes Six New Career Pathways Partners to Bridge to Work Initiative

Mountain View, CA (October 17, 2025) — The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) announced today that Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), the Golden State Valkyries, the Golden State Warriors, the San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Giants and the San Jose Sharks have joined BAHC’s Bridge to Work initiative as new career pathways partners. The group joins a growing roster of premier Bay Area companies and public partners working to ensure the region’s upcoming global sporting events leave a lasting, positive impact on local communities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome BART, the Valkyries, the Warriors, the 49ers, the Giants and the Sharks as new Bridge to Work partners,” said BAHC President & CEO Zaileen Janmohamed. “Their commitment to our region goes far beyond the playing field; together, we’re building a new legacy for Bay Area communities. By opening doors to meaningful employment and skills training, we’re ensuring that the impact of hosting global events like Super Bowl LX and FIFA World Cup 2026 extends far into the future for local residents.”

Through this collaboration, the group of new pathways partners will play a meaningful role in Bridge to Work — a workforce development program supported by BAHC partners Kaiser Permanente and The PG&E Corporation Foundation that is designed to connect individuals from under-resourced communities to temporary employment opportunities at mega-sports events in the Bay Area including Super Bowl LX and FIFA World Cup 2026.

Combined with comprehensive skills-based training in select high-need sectors, career navigation, and wraparound support, Bridge to Work will facilitate a transition from temporary roles at global sporting events to longer-term, sustainable employment. BAHC aims to place close to 500 individuals on career advancement pathways through the Bridge to Work program.

BART, the Valkyries, the Warriors, the 49ers, the Giants and the Sharks will designate targeted roles in which Bridge to Work participants are most likely to be interested and qualified and will offer resources – including private job fairs, recruitment training sessions, and customized counseling – to better prepare participants for their hiring process.
