Arik Armstead is an NFL defensive lineman and respected leader whose impact extends far beyond the football field. Known for his consistency, discipline, and thoughtful approach, Arik is deeply invested in the mental side of performance and the role resilience, identity, and purpose play in sustaining success both in sports and in life.
In 2024, Arik was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, the league’s highest honor recognizing excellence on the field and extraordinary commitment to community impact. He is also a two-time NFLPA Community MVP, reflecting years of meaningful, hands-on leadership in the communities he serves.
Through the Armstead Academic Project co-founded with his wife Dr. Melinda Armstead, they are committed to advancing educational equity and supporting whole-person development for students in underserved communities. The foundation provides mentorship, academic resources, and programming that build both intellectual and emotional confidence, including literacy initiatives, career workshops, and programs that blend athletics with STEM education. Arik has also personally funded multiple college scholarships to help students pursue higher education.
Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 and now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Arik continues to lead with purpose, preparation, and integrity. His work reflects a belief that true success is built not only on performance, but on mindset, service, and the impact we leave on others.
