Ariane Hogan

Director, State & Local Government Affairs, Genentech

Ariane is a proud, second-generation San Franciscan with deep ties to the Bay Area. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area Ariane is a graduate from Westmoor High School in Daly City.  After graduating from UC Santa Barbara and then later from Howard University School of Law, Ariane returned to the San Francisco Bay Area for work.

Ariane’s has a unique blend of corporate, non-profit and public sector experience having worked in community and economic development in San Francisco for community-based organizations supporting job creation in historically underserved communities, as an aide to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown Jr. and then later assuming the role of in-house counsel negotiating complex real estate agreements with national REITS.

At Genentech, Ariane leads the Genentech Local Government Affairs team, where she is focused on Genentech representation and engagement in local communities.  In addition to her work at Genentech, Ariane has also served on several local boards and committees working to grow and advance economic opportunities and healthy communities in the Bay Area.

In addition to being a high school athlete herself, having grown up around sports attending 49ers and Giants games at Candlestick Park and Warriors games at the then-Oakland Coliseum, Ariane is a strong believer in the power of sports to bond communities and to help young people develop strong work-ethic, resilience, and an understanding of teamwork.

Ariane currently resides in the East Bay with her family. In her personal time she enjoys cheering her children on at their various sporting events, singing in her local community choir and going on hikes in the East Bay Hills.

As a high school athlete and a strong believer in the power of sports, Ariane understands how organized athletics can instill work ethic, resilience, and a sense of teamwork, aligning perfectly with the Bay Area Host Committee’s mission to unite the Bay Area through sport.
