Naya Crittenden

Manager, Digital Content & Media

Naya is the Manager of Digital Content and Media for the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC), a non-profit dedicated to bringing world-class sports and entertainment events to the Bay Area, including the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, Super Bowl LX in 2026, and six matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In her role, she is responsible for strategizing, creating, and executing digital content to enhance BAHC’s online presence. Naya focuses on branding, storytelling, and growing the organization’s digital footprint across social media platforms, while producing content that fosters community engagement and interaction. She also handles video production and editing, working closely with internal marketing and PR teams to ensure content aligns with promotional campaigns, sponsorship activations, and brand messaging.

Before joining BAHC, Naya produced for Josh Darrow, a veteran journalist covering Miami Football for the University of Miami Hurricanes, where she managed show running, social media content, and strategy for Built On Greentree. Previously, she was a Media Content Coordinator at Ancestry.com, where she contributed to the rollout of the Roots to Africa campaign—Ancestry’s largest DNA update for the continent of Africa. She collaborated with production teams and content creators to organize authentic photo and video content from various African communities, now featured on Ancestry’s website for storytelling and educational purposes provided to their consumers.

Naya spent 6 years playing professional volleyball across multiple countries, competing in leagues such as Puerto Rico (Liga De Voleibol), Italy (Pallavolo Serie A2), Hungary (Extraliga), Switzerland (NLA, Swiss League), Germany (Bundesliga), Turkey (TVF), and finally ending her career back in the U.S. with Athletes Unlimited.

Naya served as an ambassador for several sustainability-focused non-profits that bridge the gap between professional athletes and organizations addressing climate change and carbon offsetting. Those organizations include Players for the Planet, EcoAthletes, High Impact Athletes, and One Tree Planted. One notable campaign was a beach cleanup project in the Dominican Republic, where she served as both an ambassador and participant along with other professional athletes under Players for the Planet helping raise awareness around sustainability efforts in the region, in partnership with the MLB, and an MLB academy located in Santo Domingo, D.R.

Naya earned her Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she started and played for 2 years on the Illini Women’s Volleyball team. She transferred to Illinois after spending two years at the University of Oregon, where she studied business, and broadcast journalism, and also played on the Oregon Ducks women’s volleyball team. Naya interned with WCIA News and did on-air broadcasts with the Big Ten Network Student-U before going to play volleyball professionally.

She now freelances as an on-air broadcaster at Stanford University with ESPN+, Big Ten+, and ACCN in her spare time.
