Adam Lewis

Director, Community Impact

Adam Lewis is a social impact executive reimagining the untapped power and culture-shaping influence of sport to create equitable cities. He brings a unique professional background to the BAHC, with experiences spanning local government, startups, large enterprise, and grassroots nonprofits.

Most recently, Lewis led the Human Rights and Sustainability planning for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Kansas City as a part of Mayor Quinton Lucas’ Office. In addition to his role in Kansas City, Lewis held a political appointment as the Chair of Portland, OR’s Recreation, Arts and Culture Committee—following a unanimous confirmation vote from Portland’s City Council in 2022.

Prior to joining Mayor Lucas’ Office, Lewis served as the COO for DFSForecast, an innovative fantasy sports company, where he oversaw organization-wide operations, partnerships and go-to-market strategy, ultimately leading the company to a successful acquisition in 2023.

In 2022, Lewis oversaw a $50M strategy portfolio at the USA’s largest athletic club, where he piloted a transformative model of individual and community health, successfully rolling out projects to over 22,000 members.  

Lewis’ passion for play, sport and community came into view when he founded Street Soccer USA-Portland in 2016. He grew the organization from 0 participants to serve over 1,000 people from Portland, OR’s homeless, refugee and currently incarcerated communities. Here, he also created the Portland Social Change Cup, the city’s largest homelessness awareness event and the subject of Lewis’ TEDx Talk.

As an advocate for the power of play, Lewis has been featured by TEDx, the Aspen Institute, NPR, the International Platform on Sport and Development, the New Leaders Council, USA Today and the Washington Post. In 2019, Lewis was recognized as the MLS and Portland Timbers Community MVP.

Lewis graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Willamette University, and is currently earning his MBA at the University of California’s Haas School of Business as a Beyond Yourself Fellow. Originally an Oregonian, Lewis lives in the Bay Area with his partner, Leah.
