The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) team is back in the Bay after spending a week in New Orleans laying the groundwork for hosting Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in 2026 – now, officially one year out.

Leading the delegation through a series of engagements to prepare for the year ahead, BAHC President and CEO, Zaileen Janmohamed, and key leaders across the BAHC team, participated in NFL Super Bowl planning sessions, unveiled an immersive media center activation in collaboration with Meta, and ultimately, participated in the Host City Handoff Ceremony, signifying the official transition of Super Bowl LX hosting duties. The team also spent time on the ground engaging with partners to identify new opportunities for innovation ahead of 2026.

The handoff ceremony was held the morning after an epic Super Bowl LIX matchup. Janmohamed was accompanied on stage by Bay Area sports figures such as Jed York (CEO, San Francisco 49ers) and Al Guido (President, San Francisco 49ers & BAHC Board President), as well as San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, and JPMorgan chair and BAHC board chairman Noah Wintroub. Together they received the official Super Bowl LX football from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, starting the clock until the Bay Area brings it back 10 years after hosting Super Bowl 50.

“Our presence at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans has not just about learning and planning — it’s also about making a statement that the Bay Area is ready,” said CEO Zaileen Janmohamed. “With innovation and creativity deeply-rooted in our DNA, our diverse communities, and our world-class sports leagues, we’re crafting a Super Bowl experience for 2026 like no other and one that will leave a lasting legacy for the entire region for years to come.”

At the Super Bowl LIX Media Center activation, the BAHC showcased a preview of what the world can expect for Super Bowl LX, “Bay Area: A Lens to the World,” an innovative and interactive experience developed in collaboration with Meta. Highlighting the region’s technological leadership and sports legacy through advanced LED technology, the activation was designed to encourage exploration and celebrate the landmarks, sensory experiences and sporting atmosphere that the region has to offer.

The BAHC is committed to uniting the Bay Area through sport by building pride, connecting communities, and reenergizing the entire region. As a not-for-profit sustainable sports commission, the committee is leading a comprehensive planning process that prioritizes sustainability, inclusivity, and a seamless visitor experience. From security and transportation to hospitality and environmental initiatives, every detail is being carefully considered to ensure Super Bowl LX reflects the Bay Area’s commitment to excellence.

The committee’s work extends beyond the Super Bowl, as the region prepares to host the NBA All-Star Game this week, followed by Super Bowl LX and the FIFA World Cup in 2026—marking a historic first time these events have ever been hosted by a single region in one year.
