Boston Consulting Group Confirmed as Inaugural Founding Partner of Bay Area Host Committee

Mountain View, CA (May 22, 2024) – The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC), a 501c6 non-profit corporation focused on bringing world-class events to the Bay Area and uniting the region through sport, today announced that Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a premiere management consulting firm driven by a mission to unlock the potential of those who advance the world, will become BAHC’s inaugural founding partner.

"We are thrilled to partner with Boston Consulting Group, whose vision aligns perfectly with our mission to not only bring world-class sporting events to the Bay Area but also to foster unity and sustainable development in the region," said Zaileen Janmohamed, president and CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee. "This collaboration is a cornerstone in our journey towards making the Bay Area the epicenter of sports culture, and we look forward to building on this inaugural partnership with many more that will support this purpose. We are officially open for business.”

The BAHC and BCG have agreed to a three-year partnership as the region prepares to host some of the world's most prestigious sporting events: the NBA All-Star Game in 2025, NFL Super Bowl LX in 2026 and the FIFA World Cup in 2026. As a founding partner, BCG will support BAHC in its journey from a budding startup into a sustainable, strategy-driven sports commission. BCG’s broad expertise and deep commitment to the Bay Area will be critical to executing such high-caliber events.

“Boston Consulting Group is proud to be the first founding partner of the Bay Area Host Committee,” said Daniel Acosta, BCG’s West Coast system lead and a BAHC advisory board member. “Since 1974, we've championed economic growth and positive social change in the Bay Area, including our support to transform Super Bowl 50 into the most philanthropic Super Bowl ever. Our partnership with BAHC strengthens this legacy — supporting significant events like NBA All-Star, Super Bowl LX and the FIFA World Cup. Together, we will create lasting impacts beyond these events and enrich the Bay Area's future.”

The partnership will concentrate on three of the BAHC’s enduring pillars: Community Empowerment, Youth Development, and Environmental Sustainability. These initiatives are designed to harness the transformative power of sports, stimulate community involvement and growth, promote youth engagement in sports, and champion eco-friendly practices in event management.

"The synergy between BAHC and BCG is set to revolutionize how we approach sports event management, with a keen eye on accessibility and inclusive growth," added Janmohamed. "We are setting the stage for efforts that enrich our communities and pave the way for a brighter, more connected Bay Area."
