MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (March 30, 2025) – The Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) is proud to announce LeRoid David's design was selected as the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ SF Bay Area Host City Poster. The BAHC partnered with local art programs across the region to source submissions from Bay Area artists, with entries accepted between September 10 and December 6, 2024. The contest, judged by FIFA and the BAHC, sought a design that would encapsulate the spirit of the Bay Area while celebrating the global game. A Design That Embodies the Bay Area
LeRoid’s creation presents a bold, layered aesthetic incorporating two of the region’s most recognizable landmarks—the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge—emerging from the Bay Area’s signature fog. At the heart of the poster, Levi’s Stadium, host to six FIFA World Cup 26™ matches, is highlighted alongside vibrant patterns and colors that reflect the community’s diversity and energy.
“This piece is all about connection—bridging cultures, cities, and the world through football,” said LeRoid David. “I wanted to represent the Bay Area as a hub of innovation, art, and sport, where fans from all over the world will come together to celebrate.”
A Local Artist with a Global Impact
A San Francisco native and proud second-generation Filipino American, LeRoid is an alumnus of San Francisco State University with an impressive portfolio that includes work for NBC Sports Bay Area, the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, and San Jose Sharks. His expertise in storytelling through visual art made him a standout among submissions reviewed by FIFA and the BAHC.
A Legacy of Art, Sport, and Community
The selection of a Bay Area-based artist aligns with BAHC’s mission to unite the region through sport, amplify local talent, and celebrate the cultural fabric of the community. The FIFA World Cup 26™ will bring an unprecedented global spotlight to the Bay Area, reinforcing its reputation as a destination for world-class events and technical innovation.
“This is more than a poster—it represents a lasting moment in time,” said Zaileen Janmohamed, President and CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee. “As the FIFA World Cup 26™ is played across 16 cities in three countries for the first time, LeRoid’s design will be etched in history as the Bay Area’s artistic contribution to this unprecedented global celebration of the game.”
